FBN Philanthropy Horizons: ‘Exploring Vietnam’

The FBN ‘Philanthropy Horizons’ programme helps you think strategically about giving money to people in need. Our next event is a trip to Vietnam in March 2008. It’s an excellent opportunity if you are passionate about giving well.
Who is ‘Exploring Vietnam’ for?
It’s for family business leaders and spouses who want a clear framework of strategic philanthropy. This helps you achieve better value from your money.
What will it cover?
- A six day journey through Vietnam which is growing at an average of seven per cent a year.
- Visits to social enterprises tackling youth poverty and disabilities.
- Opportunities to see how booming business is changing society.
- Meetings with experts on environmental risks, disease and crop yields.
- Experience of Vietnam’s cultural heritage and contemporary art scene.
- Embassy reception and Vietnamese hospitality.
What can you expect?
As well as building skills in strategic philanthropy you will also gain a greater understanding of how it interacts with business and government. Above all you will network with other family business leaders, local innovators and social entrepreneurs.
Who will accompany you?
You will be accompanied by experts from the London-based Institute for Philanthropy, who are organising the trip with FBN International. The group will also include local advisors and development experts.
When will it take place?
10-15 March 2008.
Find out more about this exciting visit in the ‘Exploring Vietnam’ brochure. To apply, please email a letter and short personal biography to Olivier de Richoufftz at FBN International (or@fbn-i.org).
