The Board is in charge of the general business and strategy of the Association. The Board shall pass resolutions on all items that do no fall within the attributes and powers of the General Assembly or are not reserved for other bodies by law or under these Statutes.

Matteo Fumagalli Romario

Matteo Fumagalli Romario is in charge of SOL S.p.a. Internal Audit Office and one of the directors of some of the companies belonging to SOL Group. He is a member of the 3rd generation of the Fumagalli family that, together with the Annoni family, controls SOL Group. Matteo joint SOL Group in 1993 after having being employeed in Kraft Suchard Group for 4 years. The SOL Group, founded in 1927, is engaged in the production, applied research and marketing of industrial, pure and medicinal gases as well as being involved in the home care and in the welding markets. Today, SOL is an Italian based multinational company present in 15 European countries and it has 1331 people employed. The annual revenue is over 300 million Euro. It is listed at the Milan Stock Exchange. The SOL Group is based in Monza, Italy. Matteo is an active member of AidAF the Italian FBN chapter where is responsible for educational programmes. He was also one of the members of a project team within FBN that prepared next generation initiatives, resulting amongst others in the Next Generation Working Group.

Founded in 1880, Bekaert is now active in 120 countries. Sophie is member of the Board and of the Executive Committee of FBNet, the Belgian chapter of FBN, where she is in charge of strategy development (in particular of the Next Generation Programme)

Thierry Lombard

Joachim Schwass

Andrew Wates

Andrew Wates has recently retired as Chairman of Wates Family Holdings, the ownership forum that oversees all Wates family interests, but continues to serve on the Family Board. Until April 2006, he was Chairman of Wates Group Limited, having originally joined the company in 1964. Wates Group is one of the largest privately-owned development and construction companies in the UK with 2,000 employees and an annual turnover of £900m. Currently, Andrew is Chairman of the Institute for Family Business and Vice-Chairman of FBN International. He is also Chairman of Gambado Ltd, Chairman of the Grants Committee of the Wates Family Enterprise Trust and is on the Advisory Board of Cape Verde Investments. In addition to this, Andrew is extensively involved in a number of Surrey charities, including St Catherine’s Hospice and the Surrey Community Foundation.
